The Kapuso broadcaster is set to be laid to rest at Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City on Sunday, September 3rd. Despite his status as a public figure, his family maintains a private stance. GMA Network expressed deep sorrow at the loss of one of the cornerstones of its news and current affairs department. Mike had served as a news anchor on the primetime news program "24 Oras" for many years, and his partnership with Mel Tiangco was cherished by many. Seasoned journalist Vicky Morales also became emotional upon the announcement of Mike's passing on the program.
A tribute to the late broadcaster was also held at the German Moreno Walk of Fame, where his framed photograph, along with a lit candle and flowers, was placed on his Walk of Fame star.
The public has the opportunity to visit Mike's remains and convey their condolences to his family. As per the Manila Bulletin article, Mike's family has specified that the public viewing will take place at Christ The King Parish in Greenmeadows, Quezon City, on September 2nd, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition to this announcement, the family of the late broadcaster has kindly asked that, instead of bringing flowers, the public consider making donations to the GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Throughout his career, Mike Enriquez garnered numerous accolades for his contributions as a journalist. His most recent recognition was the Most Trusted Radio Presenter award from the Annual Reader's Digest Trusted Brands Awards earlier this year.
